The American Institute of Chemists, in keeping with our mission to promote the enhancement of the chemical sciences, offers the following awards to recognize outstanding achievements in the field of chemistry.
AIC Gold Medal Award: The Gold Medal Award is the AIC's highest award. It is given annually to a person who has stimulated activities of service to the chemical sciences or the profession of chemistry. Gold Medal winners are granted AIC Life Fellow status. |
Chemical Pioneer Award: This award recognizes chemists and chemical engineers who have made outstanding contributions advancing the science of chemistry or impacting the chemical industry or the chemical profession. Award winners are granted AIC Fellow status. |
Student Awards: The AIC Student Award Program honors outstanding seniors, post-baccalaureate, and post-doctoral students majoring in chemistry, chemical engineering or biochemistry. The awards are given in recognition of a demonstrated ability, leadership, and professional promise. Candidates are chosen and nominated by their faculty members. Joseph Hyman Ethic Awards: The Ethics Award was established to recognize individuals in the chemical field who, in the face of difficulty, perform duties dictated by ethical consideration for the public good. Read more about the Joseph Hyman Ethic award and view previous recipients. |
Presidential Citations: A Presidential citation of Merit may be awarded from time to time to encourage and honor innovation and creativity in addressing the problems which face the individual chemist of chemical engineer in his/her professional environment. |
